FENDI HAUTE FOURRURE 16

Fronted by Karl Lagerfeld for his first haute fourrure collection, fur aficionados Fendi told tales of surreal majesty through a masterful collection.

Fur is a far off luxury for most, a premium product placed at a premium price, reserved for history, royalty and heiresses. Being able to say Fendi made fur more accessible might be nice, but we’re much more happy to say they turned it into even more of a desirable spectacle for haute fourrure. Gold and silver tones shone when set against the deepest inky black and even the furs themselves had a sheen under the lights of the catwalk. Textures were varied with myriad furs, snipped and shaped into smooth bars and feathered layers, bristles contrasting to the glass shine of leather trousers and boots.

Of course luxury was on the mind at all times, it comes with the medium, but half the opulence came in the dishevelled elegance within. Rusted metallics, oversized cloaks and floral motifs breathed life into the perfection of the collection that otherwise didn’t have a hair out of place. The gowns of royalty and feathered designs like mythical creatures played up to tradition but Karl’s expertise in shapes, layering and eye for something a little out of the ordinary, blending furs amongst one another, brought the line straight into 2016.
