If you fancy listening to music that will help you float away on the tube or transport your brain to utter peace during a hectic day at work, you need look no further than the London based singer songwriter Eliza Shaddad. Her impeccable vocals melt like butter against the soft guitars and emotionally packed tempo of her music, none more so than brand new single Wars.

After releasing her debut EP Waters last year, the melodic singer has built on the massively successful tracks to create something brand spanking new with a much fiercer overall sound. Eliza manages to harness the elegant, nimble and bitter-sweet characteristics of Waters while pumping in some real conviction and flashes of vitriol for good measure. Shaddad has a reputation for giving fans extremely powerful and energetic live shows, pushing herself vocally and providing raw and candid performances.

Wars is the lead single from her brand new EP ‘Run’, which Eliza says “is the gateway to this whole release, it was the first song written for the EP, and the first sign of this more brutal sound. We were playing it live as a band and it was getting louder and grungier and crashier each time and it felt so good that when it came to recording I just wanted it to kind of implode. Lyrically it’s about fighting to hold something in, and I think musically we’ve created something that really supports that – ethereal, almost eerily controlled vocals gliding over a bed of increasingly rolling turmoil. Best unleashed loud.”
