THE COURTHOUSE HOTEL

Settle in for a stay where the likes of Oscar Wilde, Mick Jagger and John Lennon were tried. Everyone loves a bad boy, right?

Courthouse Hotel - Spa

We kinda live for a novelty hotel, if we just wanted somewhere to nap, we’d go to a Travelodge (maybe). Whether it’s an all out theme or some super glamorous history, that’s what we’re looking for in a home away from home. Once Great Marlborough Street Magistrate’s Court, The Courthouse Hotel saw Oscar Wilde, Mick Jagger and John Lennon through its doors in a past life.

Right next door to Carnaby Street, the historic ground is now home to 116 luxe rooms (get yourself a Lalique penthouse if you’re feeling fancy), a bar, two restaurants, spa, cinema and even a sky terrace. Three floors are taken up with Magistrates suites, kudos for the dedication to the history, the bar even features original prison cells and ‘legal-themed’ cocktails, we’re not sure what they could be but we certainly want one or three. It only gets better in Silk, one of the hotel’s restaurants, which features the original judge’s bench, dock and witness stand.

Take yourself to afternoon tea at The Carnaby before shopping on the famous street then book yourself into The Sanook Spa, you deserve it. Did someone say ‘basement pool’? Relax even more as you become an honorary member of the cinema club then head to the roof terrace, refurbished last summer. You don’t really need to leave the building.
