Moschino AW18 Campaign

Jeremy Scott taps Steven Meisel for the house’s latest offering.

If you can cast your minds back a few months, you’ll probably remember that Jeremy Scott, inspired by the debris and fallout of our consumer culture, presented what’s best described as Cardboard Couture for his Moschino AW18 collection. This being Jeremy Scott (and this being a fashion show encouraging us to, well, consume) tongues were, of course, firmly planted in cheeks, as elegantly old-school classics like skirt suits and trench coats were reimagined in fabrics that looked as if recycled from packaging materials and parcels: we’re sure they’re less fragile than they look.

Well, now’s a great chance to revisit that wittily thought-provoking collection as the label has just dropped its stunning AW18 campaign. Fresh from his cover shoot for our Summer Issue with Madison Beer (grab it here), Scott put his camera down for this one, leaving photography duties to the legendary Steven Meisel. Riffing on the collection’s themes and motifs with its warehouse setting and depot props, the campaign features a slew of bright young things including Natalie Wrestling, Slick Woods and Mileshka Cortes.

Naturally, the collection’s best hits are all present and correct: the Stephen Jones bicycle wheel hat, the shopping bag inspired dress (complete with handles at the front) and, last but by no means least, the tailoring with packaging window detailing and tape piping at the cuffs and borders. Genius!
