The best songs around atm.

Skepta – “Hypocrisy”

Kicking off a new week in the best way, Skepta shared a surprise new song “Hypocrisy” earlier today. A fire-emoji worthy track, our fave bit has to be when Skepta waxes lyrical about turning down an MBE award following winning songwriter of the year and best contemporary song at this year’s Ivor Novello Awards. Obsessed.

Mr Jukes – “Leap of Faith” feat. De La Soul & Horace Andy

The solo project of Bombay Bicycle Club frontman Jack Steadman, “Leap of Faith” is the fourth track from Mr Jukes. Drawing influences from hip-hop, soul, jazz and funk, the track is wildly catchy and infectiously fun. Taken from upcoming debut album God First – which is set for release on 14th July – turn this song up and have a boogie.

Tyler, The Creator – “Who Dat Boy”

Returning with his first new solo material since 2015’s “Cherry Bomb”, Tyler, The Creator is welcoming us once again into his wonderfully weird world with the release of “Who Dat Boy”. Featuring horror-film esque synths and strings, the track shows off Tyler’s lyrical genius and crazy creativity, with the accompanying video an extra gory highlight.

Dan Caplen – “Flat Champagne” feat. Ray BLK

Sounding like the exact opposite of it’s title, “Flat Champagne” is the bright and bubbly R&B smash by Brixton based Dan Caplen. Recruiting Wonderland fave Ray BLK, the track is influenced by the younger generation who can’t wait to be famous. As Dan says, “You move to the big city thinking that things are going to happen instantly, but it rarely turns out like that. You’ve got to keep plugging away until someone listens”

Chronixx – “Likes”

Often hailed as the face of “reggae revival”, Chronixx has dropped the latest taster for his upcoming debut album Chronology. Releasing “Likes”, the self-produced dancehall-inspired track is crazily enjoyable and completely hypnotising. Bring on the album!

Yellow Days – “That Easy”

Establishing himself as one of the best artists around at the moment, George van den Broek – aka Yellow Days – has just dropped his latest shoegaze sensation, “That Easy”. Effortlessly unique, the track is a beautiful breath of fresh air that you won’t be able to stop listening to.

St. Vincent – “New York”

Yearning for an absent partner who is “the only motherfucker in the city who can handle” her, St. Vincent’s latest track is a beautiful ode to lost love. Cinematic and stunning, it’s a heartbreaking ballad showcasing St. Vincent’s breathtaking songwriting skills. Presumably taken from her forthcoming fifth album, we can’t wait to see what else she has in store.

Warm Digits – “Better Friction” feat. Mia La Metta

Enlisting the vocal talents of Beards’ Mia La Metta, Newcastle electronic duo, Warm Digits, are back with a bang. Latest track “Better Fiction” is a glam packed loud and proud exploration of how no technology comes without strings attached. Speaking on the track, the band say, “Our experience of the world and our states of mind are shaped and thrilled by unimaginably exciting leaps in technology, and yet that world will only last for a few moments as we fail to find a way to act collectively on rising temperatures, the failures of democracy and the unstoppable hunger for exploitation of the ground under our feet. This record is our attempt to make music from our experience of this present that teeters between celebration and devastation.”

The Xcerts – “Feels Like Falling In Love”

Finally The Xcerts have returned and as their new song title suggests, it’s time to fall in love with them all over again. Talking on the track, frontman Murray Macleod says, “‘Feels Like Falling In Love’ is about discovering a pinhole of light in the dark and turning it into the sun! We basically wanted to capture the feeling of the last scene in the Breakfast Club. Throw on your headphones, turn up the volume, punch the air as hard as possible and go live the best life you possibly can.” Will do, Murray.

Jack Conman – “Never Tell”

Rising songwriting star Jack Conman is set to take the world by storm. Dropping his latest song “Never Tell”, it’s a laid back summer sensation and shows off Jack’s effortless talent. Get ready to start hearing a lot more about him.
