The one thing I’m always in search of is a lowkey rooftop spot, nestled away from the buzz of the city. One thing that makes this quest sometimes unachievable is having to be a member to access certain ones – well not with One Hundred Shoreditch! Situated on Shoreditch High Street, this hotel sits proudly at the heart of one of London’s busiest spots.

Simply wander through the lobby which is decorated with decadent mid-century furnishing, and call the lift to The Rooftop. On arrival you will be greeted by panoramic views of London’s iconic skyline. From the Barbican to St. Pauls, you can truly witness a unique, never seen before, angle of the best city in the world.

Luckily for us, One Hundred Shoreditch has just launched their delicious retro Californian-inspired menu for those looking to kickstart their weekend in style. Taking inspiration from Palm Springs with terracotta decor, lush succulents and cacti create an unmissable Californian aesthetic and feel – sit back and indulge in this brand spanking new menu. I was fortunate enough to experience The Rooftop in all its glory. I opted for the shrimp burger and Nutella Sando, a combination that could frankly solve all my problems in one bite. To accompany these mouth-watering plates, an array of cocktails were at my fingertips. Pineapple & Coconut Spritz?  Spicy Margarita? A mere upgrade to bottomless with Prosecco and Bloody Marys? Yes please!

Walking into the sun-drenched space of Ottilie, I immediately knew it was unlike any other tattoo space I had seen. Welcoming and cosy, it engulfs you in the sweet comfort of mismatched pottery, plants and dried flowers galore, vintage screens, and a warm playlist that gets rid of any last minute jitters. Between the wood floors and high ceilings, there is a clear sense of community. And, with her delicately intricate designs and picture-perfect hand-poked techniques, it makes sense that this is where I’d meet Izzy for a tiny flash tattoo I’ve been obsessed with for ages. Collaborative, supportive, and patient, she is both an incredible artist and the kindest soul — and I left with the mini framed flower of my dreams.

Getting active with… StrongHer, Bethnal Green
Throughout my life, I’ve always been enthusiastic about sports and made it a priority of mine to stay active. But, for some unknown reason (until now, at least) the gym has always seemed like a daunting and intimidating place to me. That’s until I decided to try StrongHer a year and a half ago when I first moved to London. Located just under the overground arches in Bethnal Green, StrongHer is London’s first female-only fitness space — and also the most supportive, empowering, and diverse community of like-minded people I’ve ever encountered. I recommend it for all fitness levels and backgrounds, but especially for those who struggle with gym anxiety and don’t know where to start. Nothing against the gym bros, but I couldn’t be more of a girls’ girl.

There are only a handful of things I love more in life than a good novel. And, let’s be honest, no one does it better than Dolly Alderton. Ever since her memoir, “Everything I Know About Love,” I’ve been completely obsessed with the journalist’s writing and storytelling skills, always capturing the ups and downs of modern love so well. Imagine my excitement, then, when I heard about her new novel, “Good Material,” coming out next week. Penguin Books teases it as “a sharply funny, beautifully observed, and exquisitely relatable story of heartbreak and friendship, and how to survive both” — basically everything I need in a book to accompany me through the cold November days. Can’t wait!

Iconic British fashion brand Ben Sherman have been a mainstay in my wardrobe for years, and when I found out about their newest collaboration, I simply jumped at the chance to grab an item. The brand have patterned with the John Lennon Estate to present a limited-edition collection to celebrate six decades of music, art and fashion, merging the Sherman ethos with original Lennon doodles.
