It’s not uncommon to hear how artists draw strength from the darkest periods of their lives to create some of their best work. Heartbreak, grief, trauma—finding beauty in life’s toughest moments can spark incredible creativity. But when those stories come full circle, ending in love and triumph, they resonate on a whole new level. That’s exactly what lies behind Deena Robertson and Austin Bisnow’s musical project, Somewhere in Between, and their debut track and music video, “Mr & Mrs.”

The couple’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience and passion. Their musical partnership began when they wrote their wedding vows to each other. But their “happily ever after” was soon challenged when Deena received a life-threatening diagnosis of mouth cancer. Doctors warned she might never speak again—so they came together to record those wedding vows as a song, their first single “Mr & Mrs,” just days before her complex surgery.

Now, with Deena having found her voice again, she and Austin have started writing and recording together as Somewhere in Between. Through their music, they share a heartfelt and personal journey, representing triumph over adversity and, in the most beautiful cliché, the power of love.
