A post-album gem from Waxahatchee, Joy Crookes and Kano’s gorgeous collaboration, and Rema’s anthem… here’s Wonderlist!

Joy Crookes ft. Kano – “Mathematics” 

A collaboration between two of London’s finest songwriters, the new era of Joy Crookes takes its most compelling turn yet with the release of “Mathematics” with Kano. The East London polymath delivers elegance and emotion of the track’s back end, whilst Crookes’ hook is pure and enchanting. One of the most expressive British cuts of the year to date, undoubtedly. 

Waxahatchee – “mud” 

A welcome extra from her Grammy-nominated record Tigers Blood, Waxahatchee shares the subtly stunning country gem “mud”. It’s a near perfect journey into the writer’s sonic universe; anthemic, bittersweet and damn good fun. 

Rema – “Baby (Is It A Crime)”

Afrobeat trailblazer Rema keeps up sharpening his approach, flaunting his latest stylistic evolution with fresh single “Baby (Is It A Crime)”. Sampling Sade and produced by P.Priime, the beat is mood-laden and hip hop-inflected, whilst the artist’s vocal presence is undeniable.  

Léa Sen – “lvl 1 – HOME ALONE”

London-based, French singer-songwriter and producer is back with a heartrending and quietly dazzling new single, “lvl 1 – HOME ALONE”. Instrumentally sparse, driven by a lethargic acoustic guitar pattern and sporadic glimpses of her electronic tendencies, Léa’s tender vocal showing and poignant lyricism lay centre stage. 

Glizz x AntsLive – “INCONSISTENT”

Two of UK rap’s hottest risers, Glizz and AntsLive, augment the scene’s current hot streak with the release of “INCONSISTENT”. The pair go back to back atop the string sample-led backdrop with nuance and charisma, making a crisp and exciting sonic double act.

Dora Jar – “Lucky”

Potent folk-pop singer-songwriter follows up last year’s critically acclaimed debut album with a colour-laden new single. “Lucky” feature soaring vocals, a gorgeous musical direction and some piercing, vivid songwriting from the ever impressive Jar. 

Squid – Cowards

The third album from avant-garde art rockers Squid is an awe-inspiring achievement. It’s dystopian, daring, dark and dreamy, brimming with scintillating musicianship, flawless world-building and dextrous vocal performances. A must-hear for listeners who like a challenge. 

Rachel Chinouriri ft. Sombr – “All I Ever Asked”

Rachel Chinouriri’s wonderful 2024 album What A Devastating Turn of Events was amongst the best debut’s of last year. Now she’s augmented one of the LP’s key tracks, “All I Ever Asked”, with an inclusion of New York born, LA based artist Sombr on the shining indie pop gem. 

NSG ft. Lyvia – “Venus”

UK afroswing trailblazers NSG are raising the roof ahead of their forthcoming mixtape “The Big 6”. Their latest single “Venus” is yet another heater, featuring Nottingham emerger Lyvia, with the guys’ signature charisma and vibrant sonics on show.

IVE – “ATTITUDE”

K-pop girl ground have shared their third EP “IVE EMPATHY” and unleashed a vibrant single for the project’s lead single, “ATTITUDE”. Disco-tinged with splashes of electro pop and hip hop, it’s an anthemic cut sure to fulfil K-pop fans across the world. 

Sharon Van Etten + The Attachment Theory – “Idiot Box”

As the singer-songwriter caveats into a full band outfit, she sounds better than ever. Under the collective moniker, Sharon Van Etten + The Attachment Theory, Van Etten and crew have unleashed their remarkable self-titled debut album. It’s gothic and grand, captivating and contemplative, the work of an experienced and peerless songsmith finding beauty and creativity in collectivity. 

Låpsley – “Better” 

Pop chameleon Låpsley is back with another emotionally resonant and deeply immersive ballad. “Better” beautifully acknowledges the need for growth and resolution, with the singer-songwriter’s luscious voice serenading the atmospheric beat.  

Isabella Lovestory ft. Taichu – “Putita Boutique”

Honduran enigma Isabella Lovestory continues to prove why she’s one of global pop’s most interesting entities with her latest single. With a new full length album coming soon, Lovestory shares “Putita Boutique” with Argentinian artist Taichu, a futuristic and jaw-dropping dark dance-pop offering.

Leon Vynehall – “TEARS4ALOVER”

KILIMANJARO – “Come Towards The Light“

London-based Zambian/Scottish DJ & producer KILIMANJARO has shared news of a forthcoming EP, “Makalelo (Origins)”, due for release on 7th March. He’s shared a thrilling teaser single too, “Come Towards The Light“, with some excellent cross genre mish-mashing and a crisp, expressive vocal showing.

Lucius – “Gold Rush”

Rock outfit Lucius are gearing up to share their new self-titled album on 2nd May, and share a fresh glimpse of the body of work with teaser single “Gold Rush”. With plenty of teeth clenching riffage and a snappy voice performance, there’s plenty to bee excited about.

Bea and her Business – “We’re Not The Same”

Pop riser Bea and her Business shares a swirlingly anatomic new single “We’re Not The Same”. Poised for a big 2025, Bea shows here star power with an effortless vocal performance atop heartfelt, guitar-driven instrumentation.

R&B singer-songwriter Victoria Jane has unveiled her latest sleek and atmospheric single. “The One” features US star John Givez and is a personal and piercing mood-setter. 

Neal Francis – “Need You Again”

Throwback singer-songwriter and pianist Neal Francis has shared a new single, “Need You Again”. Featuring contributions from Grammy-winning guitarist Eric Krasno and intoxicating backing vocals from Brooklyn-based trio Say She She, the track is groove-heavy and cascading, full of homage and invention alike. 

Xin Lie – Xin Lie 

Available solely on bandcamp, Indonesian DIY royalty Xin Lie has shared a long-awaited debut album, that sees a daring aptitude for production tendencies fully realised. Sprawling across industrial, punk and hardcore sounds whilst feeling rooted in Lie’s cultural outlook, it’s a highly impressive and outlandishly thrilling opus.
