From parks to pastries, we’ve got your four day weekend’s itinerary covered.
It’s the middle of April, and that means one thing: the weather can’t make up its mind, and it’s driving us fashion-fanatics crazy (seriously, the early morning outfit decisions were hard enough to begin with). One day it’s blue skies and sun-drenched selfies, alongside a palpable whiff of suncream ruminating in the air, the next, it’s a dismally grey drizzle clouding our hopes of an early start to Aperol season, as we begrudgingly reprise our Winter puffers which had been put into storage (wishful thinking, we know).
It’s not all doom and gloom, though, as the premise of a four day weekend looms over us, Easter is on the horizon! Spanning over Friday 18th, to Monday 21st of April, the weekend is primed for some serious self-care pampering: whether it be a Sunday stroll through your local park, or a night of snacks and romcom blockbusters with your girlfriends. Here’s some of our top picks for the jumbo weekend ahead, from top reads, to top listens, give your four day staycation a glow up as you scroll down…
To watch: Black Mirror season seven
Over the past month, TV has fed us well: there’s been Adolescence, White Lotus’ excursion to Thailand, and Ben Stiller’s second season of Severance – ‘outie’ life has never looked so good. Next on our binge list, is the cult-favourite limited series, self-inflicted-existential-crisis, (now that’s got a ring to it), Black Mirror. Created by Charlie Brooker, its seventh season sees the topic of transferable human consciousness become a popular one – it’s nothing if not a fitting theme for 2025. With six episodes ready and waiting for you to delve into, it’s the perfect watch for the weekend.

If June 6th isn’t marked in your calendars by now, then you’re clearly the wrong demographic for this musical suggestion, the release date of Addison Rae’s debut album AR1 has been announced in an oh-so Addi kind of way. The pop-princess took to the Coachella stage alongside Venezuelan musician Arca, as she stunned in a sheer Chloé maxi-dress from AW25, flaunting her neon-pink panties which read June 6th on the back. After the news, we’re going to have her singles on non-stop repeat: “Diet Pepsi”, “Aquamarine”, and “High Fashion”. For this Easter weekend, though, Addison’s newest single, “Headphones On”, is set to release on Friday, and if she couldn’t get anymore iconic, she’s only gone and launched a sneak peek for the music video, stood lighting a cigarette in front of a good ol’ Iceland supermarket. So, put your headphones on, and get streaming. Thank us later.

The temptation to bask in a nearby park, boasting your finest gingham co-ord, accompanied by an entourage of M&S style ‘picky bits’, remains palpable. When the skies turn blue, the British population takes it as an elicit invitation to sit amongst greenery with a bottle of wine and a pack of cards (we’re an easy bunch to please, really). Whilst that is always a persuading weekend activity, for those of you wanting to branch out, the Saatchi gallery has unveiled its Flowers – Flora in contemporary arts & culture, which is full of just as Instagrammable spots to snap. Unfolding as a look into the symbolic pull that flowers have upon artists and creatives in wider culture, the Saatchi Gallery’s offering traces the revered beauty and fragility bestowed upon flora as a concept. With its doors open until 5 May, it’s just a stones throw away from Sloane Square station: stroll around the exhibition and then grab a coffee on Kings Road afterwards!
To eat: Hot Crossed Buns and Greek Tsoureki at Jolene
Jolene, the London-based bakery and restaurant, has become quite the hit for East-Londoners and alternative beanie wearing men (who will judge you for your coffee order) alike. But as they say, the proof is in the pudding, and Jolene takes puddings, pastries, wines, the whole lot, to the nth degree. This Easter, the hipster bakery is gracing London with some sumptuously yummy hot crossed buns, alongside a traditional Greek Easter pastry – a chocolate and hazelnut filled Tsoureki. Branching along Newington Green, hop into one of four of their stores to gnaw on a good ol’ bit of Easter-themed sweet treats, after all, what would a four day weekend be without the opportunity to fill our faces with delicious carbs?
To wear: Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 ballet flats
With the premise of long walks in the blistering heat ahead of us, a new trainer seems like the perfect garm to be to snagging this Easter weekend. Yes, it doesn’t take much for to justify a new shoe splurge, but when there are so many potential Spring-themed trainers cropping up on the market, who’s to blame us? ASICS and Story MFG have released a gingham-ified iteration of its classic Gel-Venture 6, which has since sold out, so will sit in our wishlist for the time being, but the Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 ballet flats take the cake! As a fashion lover who can never seem to find a pair of trainers that still retain a girly energy, these ‘trainers’ (if you’d class them as that), have sky rocketed to the top of my wishlist since they released at the tailend of March. In three colourways: baby pink, molten silver, and a classic black, the ballet-flat-meets-trainer is finished with a scalloped edge, and two Mary-Jane style adjustable straps. They’re durable, and still give you ample opportunity to flaunt your latest pair of funky socks.
PSA: for anybody looking to reach us over the next four days, we’ll probably be found in a flowing white dress, laying down in our nearest park, nose burrowed in a good book, listening to Addison Rae. If Easter has a winner, you bet it’s going to be us.
