NewJeans, BLACKPINK, BIBI: Cydnee with a C shares the tracks she had On Repeat whilst making her new EP “POV”.
Cydnee with a C brings together an amalgam of styles on her new EP “POV”. The six-pronged opus is her third body of work to date, and sees the Atlanta-raised, LA-based artist take a sideways stylistic shift towards K-pop characteristics, merging the much adored now global movement with liquid D&B backdrops. Her core hip hop-tinged R&B sonic disposition remains though, seemingly comfortable atop a plethora of soundscapes.
Luscious vocals, immersive palettes and infectious lyricism: the project presents Cydnee as a chameleonic, impactful and polymathic talent. Below, Wonderland find out what inspired the work in our latest On Repeat.

BIBI – “Umm… Life”
I love a song with a nice vocal and a dope beat. It’s talking about some serious stuff but this song manages to make you feel so good and is euphoric.
f(x) – “4 Walls”
The original writers of this song are two black dudes from Compton and their version is still up on YouTube. It’s amazing how f(x) gave them that opportunity and made it into a Kpop hit! I love this song so much.
NiziU – “Chopstick”
The concept is amazing! Like a chopstick I’ll always be by your side. And the melody and production is addictive. Pls listen so you can see what I mean
Pentagon – “Shine”
I’m into melodic anthems like my song Bad Guys. And all the members’ personalities and vocals makes this song my favourite K-pop boy group song ever.
NewJeans – “Attention”
It sounds so nostalgic but it’s fresh. It’s sexy but super innocent too.
Suran ft. Hwasa – “DDANG”
It’s a song about infidelity by 2 of my most favourite vocalists and songwriters in K-pop. I really like the (lowkies afterhour) DDANG remix too!
NewJeans – “Super Shy”
Nike did a collab with New Jeans and they gifted me some stuff and complimented the song “Jealous” from my first project. Four months later they released “Super Shy” and I can’t help but feel like we inspired each other’s music! I hope that was the case!
XG – “SHOOTING STAR”
Fresh but nostalgic and a friend of mine, Poe Leos, helped write this song which made it even more inspiring to me
DEAN – “instagram”
When I want to show someone some good Krnb I always start with this song!
BLACKPINK – “Lovesick Girls”
This is my favourite genre from BLACKPINK. It’s so nostalgic and makes me feel good sentimental when I hear it
HyunA – “Do it!”
There’s nothing funner than this record. HyunA is an OG K-pop idol and experiments with so many genres but this was my fav.
