Limoblaze has been lighting up a trail within the Afrogospel movement, announcing his presence with a string of collaborations with the scene’s heavyweights including Travis Greene and Jidenna. With his latest track, “Over”, Limoblaze continues his string of exciting partnerships with the latest addition: Christian contemporary artist, Elle Limebear. Together, the two declare victory over the anxiety, fear and worries spurred by the digital age.

2022 saw Limoblaze shine in London with an Afrogospel showcase at Shoreditch’s iconic XOYO, where the energetic artist sold out an 800+ capacity crowd. This year saw the artist climb in strength, earning viral status with his single “Jireh (My Provider)” featuring Lecrae and Happi. Limoblaze’s journey and sound is an unwavering testament to the transformative power of faith and music, in the face of life’s trials.

Congratulations on your newest single! Can you share the inspiration behind the collaboration, and the message you are aiming to convey?

Music is about bringing people together, irrespective of their backgrounds or tribe and that was the inspiration behind this collaboration. And this collaboration made it possible for Elle and I to combine our music styles and voices to create something that resonates to a wider audience.

“Over” is a message of Victory, it’s a prophetic declaration of the victory Jesus Christ has given us. We want our listeners to have hope and feel joyful, knowing that even in difficult moments, Jesus is there fighting for us.

Are we expecting a video alongside this? And how does the visual aspect help to convey the track’s themes?

Yes! We do have a music video accompanying the single. Visuals help to enhance the message of a song and in the video, the emotions and themes being portrayed are that of joy, hope and excitement because we know who we have put our confidence in and we have victory in Him. We want viewers to not only hear the message but see it and be uplifted.

This track features the incredibly talented Elle Limebear. Your collaborations have always spanned a diverse range of artists from Jidenna to Travis Greene, how do you choose your collaborators and what do you enjoy most about working with artists from different genres?

Collaborations are important to me; it is a prayerful decision. I tend to look for artists that share a similar passion for uplifting people.

And I also enjoy working with artists from different genres because it creates a rich and unique combination of sound which has led to many of my collaborations including my collaboration with Elle Limebear on “Over”.

Ultimately, it is a joy to see the blend of diverse sounds and styles all in service of sharing the message of Jesus.

As the Afrogospel genre gathers momentum, how do you see your role in shaping and expanding the scene?

Being a part of the Afrogosplel genre is a privilege. And I see my role as a contributor, supporter and a co-pioneer of the genre. Afrogospel is more than just a genre to me, it’s a movement, a community and a collective effort.

And my primary role is to continue making music that represents the community. I’m excited to contribute to the growth and recognition of Afrogospel on both local and global scenes.

What were your biggest and favourite highlights from 2023?

One of my major highlights of 2023 will definitely have to be my Sunday in London concert at the O2 Islington. It was a great experience and I look forward to having a Limoblaze Live in concert every year.

You were selected as one of TIDAL’s Rising Artists to Watch in 2023, how does this recognition impact your career?

Being selected as one of TIDAL’s Rising Artists to Watch in 2023 is such an incredible honour and is definitely a major milestone in my career. It has impacted my career positively in so many ways by increasing my visibility and provided major opportunities for me as a n artist.

Overall, I am grateful for the platform and I am honored to be recognized by TIDAL.

Looking ahead, what can fans anticipate from Limoblaze in terms of new projects, collaborations, or performances in 2024?

Well, I have been working on another album. So, expect amazing music with some incredible artists and collaborations.
